What We Believe

 

  1. “CIA believes in the importance of “preaching and teaching the word” (2 Timothy 4:1-2) with an emphasis on systematic, verse by verse teaching of the Bible for the purpose of discovering God’s will and applying it to our daily lives”
  2. “We believe the Scriptures as originally given by God, both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God (2 Tim. 3:16), infallible, entirely trustworthy, and the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.”
  3. “We believe in one God (Deut. 6:4), Creator of all things             (Col. 1:16), perfect, and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matt. 28:10), who is infinite, yet personal; unchanging and eternal; all knowing, all powerful and omnipresent. He is entirely loving, merciful, just and Holy”
  4. “We believe that Jesus Christ was fully God and fully human, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary (Matt. 1:18-23). He lived a sinless life and died on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for all sinners (2 Cor. 5:21). He arose bodily on the third day and ascended to the right hand of the Father. He will return personally and visibly at the end of the age to fully establish God’s Kingdom (Acts 1:9-11).”
  5. “We believe the Holy Spirit is the 3rd person of the Trinity and shares the same divine attributes as the Father and the Son. He is our comforter, helper (Jn. 14:16), teacher (Jn. 14:26) and gift giver (1Cor. 12). He imparts various gifts to various members of the Body “each one individually as He wills” for the building up of the Body. He convicts us of sin (Jn. 16:8) and illuminates God’s word to us. We believe it is by the Holy Spirit that true evidence of our salvation will be manifested, and that this is a direct result of our abiding in Christ. (Jn. 15:1-10)”
  6. “We Believe the Church is nothing less than Jesus to the world. It is often referred to as the People of God, the Body of Christ, and the Temple of the Holy Spirit and is made up of all those who have confessed their sin and put their faith in Jesus Christ as Lord (Rom. 10:9). This faith will be evident in the believers obedience to the word of God (Luke 6:46). We believe the mission of the Church is to be the pillar and support of all truth in the world (1 Tim. 3:15) and to equip the saints (Eph. 4:12) to evangelize the lost of the world (Matt. 28: 19-20).”
